Crosivia is a mobile egg incubation tracker designed for backyard keepers who want a clear, calm record of every hatch cycle. It works entirely offline, storing photos, journal notes, and environmental readings privately on your device. The interface pairs a day-by-day embryo development view with an in-app wiki covering temperature ranges, humidity charts, and species-specific timelines. From a single clutch to several broods running at once, Crosivia gives each cycle its own organized, revisitable history.

Inside the App

What Crosivia Does

Crosivia centers its interface around a large circular incubation dial — a cream and beige wheel that fills with progress as the cycle advances, sitting against a dark brown textured background that feels deliberately earthy and calm. Setting up a new cycle takes seconds, and from that point the app tracks the day count, surfaces the next egg-turning reminder, and displays the predicted hatch date with a note that timing varies by breed and conditions. Milestone markers at Day 14 (growth check), Day 18 (lockdown), and Day 21 (expected hatch) give the full arc a clear shape at a glance.

Logging and the journal

The Journal tab handles humidity and temperature entries, displaying each reading with its date, time, percentage, and degree value to one decimal place. A line graph plots humidity over time against target ranges of 45–55% RH and 37.2–37.8°C, with temperature overlaid on the same chart. The built-in camera lets you photograph candling sessions and hatching chicks, with every image kept in a private on-device gallery. Pairing those photos with written notes builds what the app describes as a complete record of each clutch.

The wiki and what it covers

An in-app guide section titled How incubation works walks through the biology stage by stage — from a faint embryonic disc at Day 1 to a chick that fills the shell by Day 21. A visual timeline of egg icons maps the progression at Days 1, 7, 14, 18, and 21. Temperature guides, humidity references, and development timelines are available offline, which the app positions as useful for questions that come up outside of business hours. The interface supports dark mode throughout and includes a four-step guided tour on first launch, with a skip option for users who prefer to explore on their own.

One honest note on accessibility

The core circular dial interaction relies on swipe gestures and color-coded data points without documented text alternatives for screen readers. Charts and graphs currently lack apparent audio descriptions, and the chromatic aberration decorative effect used in the branding screens may cause eye strain for some users. Users who rely on VoiceOver or similar assistive tools should be aware that the interface, as documented, would require meaningful modification to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Crosivia's restraint is its clearest strength — it does not try to be a social platform or a subscription service. It is a private logbook that stays on your phone and gets out of the way.

How Crosivia Works

Does Crosivia work without an internet connection?
Yes, Crosivia is fully offline. Your photos, journal notes, and cycle data are stored privately on your device and never leave it.
How does the app help me remember to turn my eggs?
The Cycle tab includes a dedicated egg rotation section where you can log each turn with a 'Mark turned' button, and the incubation dial shows the next turn at a glance.
Can I track temperature and humidity readings over time?
Yes, the Journal tab lets you log humidity and temperature readings, which are then displayed as a line chart so you can monitor trends. Target ranges for humidity (45–55%) and temperature (37.2–37.8°) are shown alongside your entries for easy reference.
Can I manage more than one incubation cycle at a time?
Yes, Crosivia supports multiple nests, accessible via the 'Nests' option in the app header, so you can keep separate cycles organized independently.
Where can I find guidance on incubation stages if I'm unsure what to do?
Crosivia includes a built-in wiki with temperature guides, humidity charts, and development timelines covering key milestones such as the Day 14 growth check, Day 18 lockdown, and Day 21 hatch window.
