...so I downloaded Multi Play expecting something pretty basic, you know, just a travel guide kind of thing... and it actually surprised me. the Egypt content is genuinely well put together — the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, the museums, all laid out in a way that feels thoughtful rather than just copy-pasted from Wikipedia. the offline mode is the real selling point for me though... I'm the type who doesn't trust airport wifi and definitely doesn't want to be hunting for signal in the middle of Luxor.

the trip planner is a nice touch. being able to build out a day-by-day itinerary and mark off places as you go... it scratches that organisation itch in a satisfying way. I've only visited 0 of the 28 places so far (I mean, I haven't actually been to Egypt yet, I'm just planning), but having everything laid out like that makes the trip feel real.

where it gets a little muddled is the app icon and the store page... the promotional images look like a completely different app? slot machines, jesters, fruit symbols — I genuinely thought I'd downloaded the wrong thing when I first opened it. the actual app inside is clean and calm, which is great, but the marketing visuals are... confusing, to put it gently. someone in the design team had a very different brief, I think.

overall I'd recommend it to anyone planning an Egypt trip. just maybe brace yourself for the weird store screenshots.

the offline thing is real. no data roaming stress. used it in aswan and it worked perfectly 🌍

Store screenshots are MISLEADING. Fruit machines, wolves, jokers. None of that is in the app. False advertising territory.

Yeah I had the exact same reaction when I first saw the store page (I nearly skipped it entirely because I thought it was a slots game, which... not my thing). But the actual app is genuinely a travel companion with maps and a favourites list and everything, which is fine I guess as long as you get past the baffling icon. The About page explains it pretty clearly once you're inside.

fair point about the screenshots. but the app itself does the job. places list is solid, map works offline, cant really ask for more at free

GlitchHunter77

Confirmed misleading. Store icon shows slot reels and fruit symbols. In-app content is Egypt travel guide. Zero overlap. Dev needs to fix store listing assets.

...yeah exactly, it's like two completely separate design teams worked on this and never talked to each other. the inside of the app is calm and well-organised... the outside looks like a Las Vegas promo. I still think the app itself is worth it though, especially for the offline maps.

One thing I really appreciate is the 'Built for explorers' section in the About page — no account required, no tracking, your data stays on your device (which honestly feels rare these days and is a bit of a relief). The trip planner is something I've been wanting in an offline travel app for a while... I just wish the filter chips on the Places screen were a bit clearer about which one is active, because I kept second-guessing whether I'd selected a category or not.

GrumpyTechDesk

Filter state issue is REAL. Color-only active indicator. No shape change. Fails basic usability. Easy fix, not done.
