The core concept here is solid — a poultry field guide with light gamification, daily quizzes, an egg log, a feed calculator. Clean scope, no feature bloat. That part works.

But the UX has real friction in a few places. The onboarding dumps you into a four-screen sequence that explains features you haven't touched yet — classic mistake. By screen three I was just tapping Continue to get through it. The breed quiz itself is well-structured, one question at a time, clear imagery, but the feedback after a wrong answer is too thin — you get a red flash and move on, with no explanation of what actually distinguishes that breed. That's a missed learning moment, and for an educational app, that's a significant gap.

The daily tasks panel on the home screen is visually clean but the information hierarchy is off. Points are displayed in the same visual weight as task names, so your eye doesn't know where to land first. The streak counter is prominent enough, which is fine — streaks drive retention — but it's sitting above the task list when it should probably be secondary to the content.

Egg log is functional but bare. No week-over-week view, no way to add notes to a specific day's entry. If someone is actually using this to track a real flock, that's limiting pretty fast. Feed calculator is the same story — does one thing, does it adequately, but there's no context around the output, no explanation of the formula being used.

Only eight breeds in the database is the other thing I keep coming back to. For a reference guide, that's a starting point, not a product.

Design language is cohesive — the warm greens and yellows carry through consistently, and the watercolor farm aesthetic suits the subject. Navigation tabs are labeled and spaced well. No complaints on visual consistency.

Decent foundation, but it's shipping at about half the depth it needs to be.
