Sweet Bon is a mobile app that takes food lovers, curious travelers, and trivia fans on a guided tour of the world's most iconic sweets. Each stop pairs a short cultural read with a follow-up quiz, turning idle time into something genuinely rewarding. With 29 countries spread across six continents, there's enough breadth to keep exploration going well past the first session.

Inside the App

How Sweet Bon Works

Sweet Bon is built around a simple but satisfying loop: pick a country, read about its signature sweet, take a short quiz, and unlock a collectible card. The World Tour is the spine of the app, organizing 29 destinations into continent groups — Asia, Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania. Each country page leads with a cultural note on the featured dish, followed by a five-question quiz mixing multiple-choice and true/false formats, plus an ingredients-and-steps recipe section.

What's inside each country

  • A Sweet Culture section with context about the dish — Japan's Mochi, for instance, is described as pillowy rice cakes pounded for centuries and served at festivals and tea ceremonies
  • A Country Quiz with five questions across multiple-choice and true/false formats
  • A recipe section listing ingredients and a four-step preparation guide
  • A Collectible Card that unlocks only after passing the quiz
  • A photo-sharing section where users can snap or upload their own version of the dish

Progress and currency

The Stats screen tracks Bon Coins earned, day streaks, cards collected out of 29, and total quiz attempts — all broken down by continent. Some countries are available from the start; others, like Belgium and Turkey, are locked behind a 50 Bon Coin cost. A Today's Pick feature on the main menu highlights a daily featured sweet, and a separate Sweet Trivia section adds lighter reading between sessions.

The visual side

The interface runs on pink-to-purple gradients throughout, with each continent group getting its own color palette — teal-blue for Europe, yellow-orange for the Americas. The loading screen animates a candy-mixing sequence through four labeled steps: Picking, Mixing, Wrapping, and Serving. That playful visual language — swirling colors, candy-shaped icons, glittering particles — shares its DNA with match-3 puzzle games where rainbow potion bottles and fruit-shaped pieces burst across a deep purple board. Sweet Bon borrows that same saturated warmth and applies it to geography instead of a game grid.

One thing to note

The app leans heavily on color to distinguish UI elements and progress states. Users who rely on high-contrast modes or screen readers may find some areas less navigable than others, as the accessibility documentation flags that additional texture or symbol coding could improve the experience for color-blind users.
