Rune Shift: Nordic Gate is a sliding-block puzzle game for iOS set in the sunlit stone halls of an ancient world. Players slide carved plates around a grid to guide a golden Key toward the glowing gate — but every board hides a catch. It suits anyone who enjoys unhurried, logic-driven challenges that reward patience over speed. Inside you'll find multiple worlds of sequentially unlocked levels, a cosmetic shop, and a clean set of tools to help when a puzzle gets stubborn.
How It Plays
At its core, Rune Shift: Nordic Gate is a Rush Hour-style sliding puzzle: rectangular carved plates fill a dark navy grid bordered in gold, and your job is to clear a path so the golden Key piece can slide out through the exit on the right side of the board. What separates it from a straight clone is the glyph-merging mechanic. When a plate stops flush against another plate that carries the same glyph — Delta against Delta, Omega against Omega — the two fuse into a single longer plate. That merger can open a lane you desperately needed, or it can seal off the board in a way that takes several undos to unpick.
How the boards are built
- The game board sits inside a thick golden-bordered square on a dark navy background; grid lines are subtle, keeping the focus on piece positions rather than the cells themselves.
- Each plate carries both a color and a Greek-letter glyph — Δ, Ω, Ψ and others — so piece identity reads clearly even when colors are close.
- A move counter tracks efficiency from zero, and each level awards up to three stars, with 90 stars available across the first world alone.
- The opening world is called Doric — described in-game as "the plain stone halls, learn the slide" — and levels unlock one at a time in sequence.
Tools and the shop
Three buttons sit at the bottom of every puzzle screen: Undo, Hint, and Restart. Hints reveal one strong move and are counted as a resource — players start with three and can acquire more through the in-game shop using diamond currency. The shop also carries cosmetic key skins: Bronze Key (equipped by default), Marble, Laurel, Aegean, and Sunfire, priced between 8 and 30 diamonds, plus one locked slot whose condition isn't shown. Skins change the appearance of the Key piece only and have no effect on puzzle mechanics.
A shared language of ancient symbols
There's a structural kinship here with games like Keys of Olympus — Slide Puzzle, another iOS puzzler that uses carved symbols and a golden key piece navigating toward a gate, wrapped in the visual grammar of columned stone architecture, pastel-blue skies, and amber-gold UI accents. Both games treat the act of sliding a key through a stone hall as something almost ceremonial. Rune Shift leans into that mood: the backgrounds show faint ghosted glyphs and illustrated temple scenes, and the color palette runs from deep navy on the board to warm gold on every interactive element.
One thing worth knowing
The merging mechanic is genuinely novel, but the game doesn't explain it before you encounter it. A player who hasn't read the description may spend a few puzzles confused about why two plates suddenly became one — a brief in-puzzle introduction would go a long way.
- Settings offer music and haptics toggles, both on by default.
- A Reset Progress option is present in settings, marked in red to signal it is a destructive action.
- The game runs on iOS and is available on the App Store.

Destek... ne destek... BİR TÜRLÜ ulaşamıyorsun. Oyunun kendisine bakacak olursam, evet, bulmaca mekaniği fena değil. Plakaları kaydırıyorsun, aynı sembollü olanlar birleşiyor, KEY geçiyor... tamam, konsept anlaşıldı. Ama bir sorun çıktığında? BİTTİ.
