so I've been playing The Fruits Boom on and off for the past few days and I have some thoughts — mostly positive but with a few little niggles that I can't quite shake.
the core gameplay is just flipping cards and matching fruit pairs before the timer runs out, which sounds super simple but honestly gets a bit more intense as the levels progress (the grid gets bigger and the time feels tighter, which keeps it from going stale too quickly). the animations when you flip a card are really satisfying, like there's a little swoosh that just feels right, and the fruit illustrations are genuinely pretty — bright and juicy-looking in a way that makes the whole thing feel cheerful to look at.
what I appreciate most is that it doesn't overstay its welcome in any single session. a quick round is actually quick, which is rare for this kind of puzzle game... which is nice when you're just waiting for something. the combo system is a fun little extra pressure — if you keep matching pairs in a row you get a multiplier boost, and it makes you feel clever even when you're mostly just getting lucky.
the UX is mostly clean and intuitive (I didn't need to read any instructions, which is always a good sign for me), though I do wish the timer was a tiny bit more prominent on-screen — sometimes I forget it's counting down until I'm suddenly scrambling. also the transition between levels feels a little abrupt, like one second you're celebrating a clear board and the next you're already staring at a new grid with no real breather moment... which is fine I suppose, but a short little animation or fanfare there would make the progression feel more rewarding.
overall it's a genuinely pleasant little brain-trainer 🧩 — good for short bursts, nice visuals, and the difficulty curve feels thoughtfully designed.
