Peak Train is a mobile fitness app in the Health & Fitness category, built for anyone who wants structure, accountability, and data behind their training. It brings together workout plans, nutrition logging, coach messaging, and progress photo documentation in a single dark-themed interface. Five main sections — Activity, History, Messages, Food, and Profile — are always within thumb's reach via a bottom navigation bar. Whether you're just starting out or already training consistently, the app is designed to grow with your goals.
Inside the App
What Peak Train Does
Peak Train organizes your training around personalized workout plans tailored to your fitness level, goals, and preferences. The Activity dashboard lists daily exercises grouped by type — pullups, pushups, and more — with rep counts and completion checkmarks tracked in real time. Each exercise card links to a reference video so you can check form before you begin, and a Finish button closes out the session cleanly.
Nutrition and Progress in One Place
The Food tab presents a circular calorie progress indicator showing current intake against a daily target, alongside linear progress bars for protein, fat, and carbohydrates — each displaying a current-to-target ratio. Individual meals expand to show logged items with full macro breakdowns per entry. The Progress screen adds a photo-documentation layer: front, back, and side photos can be captured directly through the app and dated for historical comparison over time.
Coaching and Community
A built-in chat screen connects users with certified coaches by name. Conversations support both text and voice messages, with file attachments also available. The interface follows standard messaging conventions — timestamps, read indicators, and a Read More link for longer coach notes. The app also supports syncing with Fitbit and Apple Health for users who already track data on external devices.
Design and Accessibility Considerations
- Dark theme throughout, with an orange-red gradient used for all primary buttons, active states, and progress fills
- Sans-serif typography with a clear size hierarchy across headers and body text
- Minimalist iconography including lightning bolt branding and camera icons for photo uploads
- Progress indicators rely heavily on orange color coding, which may present challenges for color-blind users without additional visual cues
- Some interactive elements — particularly camera and attachment buttons — are noted as potentially small for users with motor impairments
The combination of workout logging, macro tracking, and direct coach messaging in one app is genuinely useful — but the heavy dependence on a single accent color for all progress feedback is a real usability gap that text labels or pattern overlays could address.
