The collection setup is clean, the detail screens give you everything you'd want (cut type, cooking method, description), and the AI guidance angle is a nice touch for someone who's still figuring out the difference between braising and slow-roasting.
That said, I'm not completely sold on the value here compared to when the app first launched. The onboarding — picking your favorite meat types, setting goals — felt fresh at first, but after a while the slot machine interface for browsing cuts starts to feel more gimmicky than useful. Like, it's visually fun, the whole cosmic buffalo aesthetic is genuinely charming, but I keep wondering if I'm spending more time spinning than actually learning. Used to feel like every session added something meaningful to my collection; now it feels a bit repetitive.
The achievements tab is there but I haven't really felt rewarded by it yet. Progress feels slow and the badges don't seem tied to anything I'm naturally doing — it's not like the app nudges you toward them in a satisfying way. Compare that to other food journaling apps where completing a category or hitting a streak actually feels earned.
Design-wise though? Genuinely great. Dark burgundy with that warm orange accent is easy on the eyes, the food photography is high quality, and the whole thing loads fast. No complaints there.
