So I downloaded this Mayan Golden Insights a few days ago and I must say it is quite interesting experience, different from what I expected. The whole idea of placing symbols on the Altar and seeing what kind of insight or thought comes out is actually creative — I was not thinking it would be so engaging at first. The daily chest mechanic where you open it once per day to get a new symbol is a nice touch, it gives me reason to come back every day.
The visuals are really beautiful. The temple, the jungle background, all the golden effects — very polished looking app. The characters like the Aztec priestess are detailed and the animations when you receive a symbol feel rewarding.
But I have some issues. The progression feel a bit slow to me. I am at the Seeker level and need several more symbols just to reach Keeper, and since you only get one chest per day, it takes long time. I wish there was maybe one more way to earn symbols without waiting whole day.
Also the app description talks about "unlocking insights and inspiring thoughts" but honestly the actual insights I received so far feel a little generic. I was hoping for something more deep or unique based on the symbol combinations I place on the Altar. Maybe I have not explored enough yet.
Overall it is a decent app with a beautiful design and a fun daily habit loop, but the content depth could be better. Does anyone know if the insights become more interesting as you progress to higher levels in the Temple?
