How the Puzzle Works

Every reveal is a commitment. Correct choices move you forward; mistakes cost attempts, and each level begins with a fixed number of them. Early levels open with five attempts and a clean grid, while later stages compress the margin for error. Along the way, cells may contain silver coins worth collecting, or junk catches — old boots and similar dead ends — that test whether you're reading the current carefully or just guessing. The shop offers tools to help: Fish Eye reveals hidden information, Extra Attempt extends your safety net, and the Compass aids navigation when the path feels unclear.

Atmosphere and Visual Style

The game renders its underwater world in cartoon-style 3D with saturated blues, turquoise, orange, and yellow throughout. Brain coral sits in the lower corners, transparent bubbles drift up the screen, and a cheerful bearded fisherman in a gray knit cap stands ready at the bow. The main menu shifts the setting to a snow-covered mountain landscape with evergreen forest — a quieter, colder backdrop that gives the game an unexpected visual range. The Fish Legend logo itself is rendered in a large orange-and-yellow 3D gradient above a friendly blue fish mascot.

A Note on Accessibility

The teal directional arrows that drive the core mechanic rely entirely on color and orientation for meaning — there are no text labels attached to them. For players with deuteranopia or similar color vision differences, this could make reading the grid genuinely difficult. The grid squares also differentiate items through visual pattern alone, which adds to the challenge for screen reader users. The menu buttons and touch targets are well-sized, and the overall visual hierarchy is consistent, but the arrow system is an area where the game falls short of broader accessibility.
