Factoria is a quiet, offline Android app built for anyone who enjoys picking up something genuinely interesting in the space of a minute. It holds 80 curated facts spread across eight topics — from deep space and ocean depths to human history and how your body works. The experience is deliberately unhurried: no notifications, no data collection, no internet required. Whether you have thirty seconds or thirty minutes, Factoria fits without asking anything in return.

Screens & Features

What's Inside Factoria

Open Factoria and you land on the Explore screen — a scrollable feed anchored by a Fact of the Day card that greets you with a gradient running from teal-blue to warm amber. Beneath it sits the Quick Start card, which surfaces a random fact and offers three immediate paths: read it fully, swap it for another, or jump straight to the quiz. A progress tracker at the top counts how many of the 80 facts you have read so far, displayed as a simple ratio — 1/80 on day one — with a thin bar stretching toward completion.

Eight Topics, Ten Facts Each

The Collections screen lays out all eight categories in a two-column grid, each card color-coded to its subject: blue-gray for Space, pink for Human Body, purple for Culture, teal for Technology, and so on. Every collection contains exactly 10 facts, covering territory as varied as planetary geology, unusual animal adaptations, turning-point moments in history, and life below the ocean surface. Tapping a fact card anywhere in the app opens a bottom-sheet modal with the full text, a highlighted Key takeaway, and a short list of related facts to follow if curiosity pulls you further.

Quiz and Favorites

The built-in quiz runs 12 multiple-choice questions with shuffled answers and tracks your best score across sessions. Feedback is immediate — a green-tinted card appears below the question the moment you tap an option, with a brief explanation of the correct answer. Separately, any fact can be starred and saved to Favorites, where it waits with a gold-filled icon for whenever you want to revisit or retell it. Search works across both facts and categories, so nothing stays buried for long.

A Note on Design Tradeoffs

The visual design is clean and the color palette is well-chosen, but quiz feedback relies almost entirely on green color to signal a correct answer — there is no checkmark or icon to reinforce the state for users who may not distinguish colors easily. Filter chips along the category row are also on the smaller side and may feel slightly tight to tap precisely. These are minor friction points in an otherwise composed interface.

Factoria has the feel of a well-curated pocket almanac — the kind of thing you'd keep on a nightstand rather than check compulsively. The app works offline, requests no internet access, and collects no personal data, which makes the relationship between user and content unusually straightforward.

Hej. Ściągnęłam Factorię bo szukałam czegoś spokojnego na wieczór. I jest ok! Fajne ciekawostki, ładnie posortowane po tematach. Kosmos, ocean, ciało człowieka... jest w czym wybierać. Quiz też miły, choć 12 pytań to trochę mało. Nie trzeba internetu, to duży plus. Mogłoby być więcej faktów bo 80 to jednak nieduzo. …
