April 2026.

Einblicke in die App

Was steckt drin?

Sweet100x scratches an itch I didn't know I had — on one hand, it's a genuinely clever little dessert tracker with real depth in the content, and on the other hand, the game-side of the interface feels like it wandered in from a completely different app. Let me explain. The …

tara_m: the game section is loud in a way that clashes with the app's otherwise measured design

Okay so I actually had the exact opposite reaction to the game interface — like, honestly I found it kind of charming in this completely chaotic way, and I think there's something genuinely fun about how unhinged the candy visuals get, the lollipops and the grapes and the little multiplier bubbles all just sort of exploding across the screen and I was lowkey delighted by it even if I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing, and also the host presenter character is weirdly endearing in the way that, like, a lot of mobile game mascots are once you get used to them, you know? I do totally get the tonal clash point though, going from the clean Tiramisu detail page with its nice cocoa-powder photo and the little 'Italy • Europe' tag back to the full candy chaos is genuinely jarring, it's like two different apps got merged and nobody told the design team, and that's a real criticism that I think is fair, but I guess I'm just more forgiving of visual noise than most people because the discovery side is SO good that it carries the whole thing for me.

the passport thing is actually so good like i marked off crème brûlée and tiramisu and now i feel weirdly accomplished the 1% complete thing is funny tho. humbling is the right word tbh

tara_m: it feels tonally inconsistent with the calm, clean tracker screens

I have been using this application for several weeks now, and I find myself largely in agreement with the concern about coherence. When I first downloaded Sweet100x, the dessert discovery side of things was presented as the primary draw — the world map, the regional categories, the personal passport — and it felt like a thoughtful, well-curated tool for people who genuinely travel and eat with curiosity. The Discover tab in particular has a pleasantly considered quality to it; the flavor profile quiz is a small thing, but it does make the recommendations feel personalized rather than arbitrary. What I did not expect was the game layer with its cascading visual effects. I will not say it is poorly made, because it clearly is not; but it used to feel — in earlier builds, at least — as though the app had a clearer sense of what it was. The current version seems to be trying to appeal to two quite different users simultaneously, and I am not certain it fully succeeds with either. The tracker side is excellent. The game side is something I have largely ignored. Whether that represents poor product direction or simply a feature I am not the intended audience for, I cannot say with confidence.
