Evolution Sprout simuliert die Evolution von Pflanzen in einer sich ständig verändernden Umgebung. Der Spieler beeinflusst die Umweltbedingungen und beobachtet, welche Arten sich durchsetzen, mutieren und neue Lebensformen entwickeln. Es gibt kein Endziel – nur die Beobachtung natürlicher Abläufe.

Jedes Biom hat ein eigenes Klima und eine eigene Bodenstruktur, was direkt beeinflusst, wie sich Pflanzen anpassen. Eine Wüste mit heißem, trockenem Klima und geringem Niederschlag erzeugt völlig andere Evolutionsverläufe als ein gesättigtes Feuchtgebiet mit gleichmäßigem Regen. Diese Ausgangswahl prägt den gesamten weiteren Verlauf der Simulation.
Mehrere Spielstände können gleichzeitig gespeichert und verwaltet werden – mit Namen wie „Green Valley", „Dry Dunes" oder „Wet Hollow", jeweils mit eigenem Symbol und Generationsstand.
Evolution Sprout lebt vom Verzicht: kein Ziel, kein Scheitern, kein Fortschrittsbalken – nur das geduldige Beobachten eines Systems, das seine eigenen Regeln schreibt.
Wer aktive Eingriffsmöglichkeiten oder detaillierte Visualisierungen der Pflanzenmorphologie erwartet, wird feststellen, dass die App eher abstrakt bleibt. Der Evolutionsbaum ist als lineare Liste umgesetzt, keine verzweigte Grafik – was die Nachvollziehbarkeit komplexer Abstammungslinien bei fortgeschrittenen Generationen einschränkt.

Che recensione dettagliata, complimenti davvero... io l'ho scaricata quasi per caso la settimana scorsa cercando qualcosa di diverso dal solito, e mi ha sorpresa. Non sono una da simulazioni complesse di solito, ma qui c'è qualcosa di rilassante nel guardare le specie che cambiano generazione dopo generazione. È come avere un piccolo acquario virtuale, ma con le piante e la genetica. Mi ha presa di più di quanto pensassi, e continuo a tornare ogni sera solo per vedere come va il mio 'Green Valley'... il fatto che non ci sia un traguardo finale lo trovo liberatorio, non so spiegare bene perché ma mi fa sentire meno sotto pressione 🌿
L'evolution tree però... è una lista. Solo una lista. L'hanno chiamata 'albero' e non c'è nessun albero. ASSURDO.
Concordo con la tua osservazione, ed è esattamente il tipo di cosa che mi fa chiedere se il prodotto sia davvero finito o ancora in fase embrionale. L'idea di simulare un'evoluzione vegetale con biomi diversi ha senso, e capisco l'attrattiva per certi utenti, ma se mi aspetto un albero evolutivo visivo e trovo un elenco scorrevole, il valore percepito dell'app scende parecchio. Considero anche che non ha un modello di monetizzazione aggressivo — niente acquisti in-app evidenti, niente pubblicità invasiva che ho notato — quindi il prezzo di ingresso è quello che è. Ma se la funzionalità principale non è all'altezza del nome che le hanno dato, ma ne vale la pena davvero?

Ho provato il bioma Tundra ieri... le piante muoiono tutte subito? E normale o ho sbagliato qualcosa?
È del tutto normale, almeno stando a quello che ho osservato io. La Tundra è il bioma con le condizioni più ostili, e nelle prime generazioni la mortalità è altissima — solo le specie con parametri genetici particolarmente adatti alla resistenza al freddo riescono a sopravvivere e a riprodursi. Se hai pazienza e lasci girare la simulazione per una ventina di generazioni, inizi a vedere emergere qualcosa di interessante: le poche sopravvissute si differenziano in modo abbastanza marcato rispetto a quelle che partono da un Meadow, per esempio. È proprio questo il punto dell'app, in fondo.
Anch'io avevo fatto lo stesso errore all'inizio con il Desert! Pensavo di aver rotto qualcosa... poi ho capito che fa tutto parte del gioco, le piante si adattano lentamente e bisogna avere un po' di pazienza. Forse sarebbe utile una piccola guida introduttiva, anche solo qualche riga di spiegazione per i biomi più difficili... spero che la aggiungano in futuro 🌱

I have been using Evolution Sprout since what I believe was a fairly early build, and the trajectory has been uneven, to say the least. When I first loaded the app, the simulation felt more volatile — species would go extinct rapidly, and the early generations had a genuine sense of unpredictability that kept me checking back. At some point, and I cannot say precisely when, the balancing shifted; populations stabilize more readily now, which makes the simulation feel safer but also somewhat less dramatic. The saves system is well-considered; being able to maintain several named worlds simultaneously — Green Valley, Dry Dunes, Wet Hollow — and compare their evolutionary states across the Stats screen is genuinely useful, and it is one of the features that distinguishes this app from simpler, single-run alternatives. The evolution tree, while not visually elaborate, does its job of showing lineage progression in a readable format. Where I find myself less satisfied is in the depth of environmental intervention. You can shape conditions, yes, but the feedback on how your specific adjustments affected a particular generation's outcomes is thin. I would welcome a simulation log that was more granular — something that told you not merely that a species appeared in generation four, but what pressures drove the mutation. The log exists, but it reads more as a record than an explanation. The app is doing interesting things underneath; it simply does not surface them well enough yet.
Disagree on the depth point. Gen 76 in a storm-condition save, species count still fluctuating. Enough to watch. Stats chart is thin though — agreed on that.
To be fair, the volatility shift MargaretV describes is real. I noticed it too — earlier runs felt like you were genuinely on the edge of a mass extinction every few generations, and that tension was most of what made checking back feel worthwhile. Now it is smoother, and smooth is not always better in a simulation. That said, I do not think stability is inherently wrong here; it depends on what the developer is going for. If the intent is long, slow ecological drift rather than dramatic collapse-and-recovery cycles, then the current balance makes sense philosophically even if it costs some excitement.
What keeps me coming back more than the simulation itself is actually naming the worlds and watching them diverge. There is something low-key satisfying about having a 'Green Valley' at Gen 4 and a 'Dry Dunes' at Gen 7 and knowing they started from different conditions. It is not deep engagement, but it is the kind of idle curiosity that fits well into a few minutes here and there. The app does not overstay its welcome in a single session, which I think is actually a design strength rather than a limitation.
That is a fair point about the naming; it does create a mild sense of investment that a purely anonymous run would not. I will admit I have found myself genuinely curious about what Green Valley looks like at generation twenty, which is more attachment than I expected to feel toward what is essentially an automated process. Whether that curiosity sustains itself past the early weeks is, as the original review notes, the real question — and I am not yet certain of the answer myself.
