Spent a couple of weeks with Avianaut ScoresX, long enough to form a pretty clear picture of what you're actually getting here. The core loop is a timed math puzzle — you're working through number grids, combining tiles to hit target values, all while a countdown keeps the pressure on. It's a straightforward premise, and to the app's credit, it executes that premise cleanly. The visual theme does a lot of heavy lifting: the progression from clear-sky backgrounds into deeper space is a genuinely nice touch, and the rocket aesthetic gives the whole thing a sense of movement that pure number games usually lack.

Where I find myself less convinced is in the depth department. The achievement tiers — Rookie Pilot up through Ace Pilot — are well-labeled and give you clear targets, which is useful for knowing where you stand. But once you've climbed through those milestones a few times, the sense of meaningful progression starts to thin out. The multiplier system adds a layer of strategy, but it's not quite deep enough to keep the decision-making feeling fresh over dozens of sessions. For a game that's free or low-cost, that's a reasonable trade-off. If there's ever a paid tier or expansion involved, the value case gets harder to make.

The minimalist design is mostly an asset — high contrast, readable grids, clear timers. The dual red-and-blue themes are a cosmetic choice more than a gameplay one, but they work well visually and give you something to switch up when you want a change of scenery. Character customization adds a small personal stake in your progress, which is a smarter retention mechanic than it first appears.

Net assessment: Avianaut ScoresX delivers a competent, well-presented math puzzle experience. The ceiling on replayability is real, but so is the quality of what's there. For casual sessions — five to ten minutes of focused number work — it earns its place. Whether it holds up as a long-term habit depends entirely on how much mileage you personally get from chasing score records.
