AeroRoutine addresses a genuine gap in the working lives of aviation maintenance crews: the absence of a lightweight, purpose-built tool for daily operational tracking. Rather than forcing mechanics into enterprise-grade software or paper logs, it offers a focused set of features sized to what one person actually needs on the hangar floor.

What the App Tracks

• Aircraft fleet entries with registration codes, type, base location, and service status — displayed as serviceable (green), under maintenance (orange), or flagged with a warning indicator
• Shift tasks organized by priority level, with a today's tasks view showing pending items and aircraft codes like VP-BQT
• Standardized inspection checklists with a circular progress interface showing percentage completion — the pre-flight screen, for example, displays 48% checks complete with a green progress ring
• Work timers running per-task and per-aircraft, visible from both the dashboard and the Reports overview
• A personal notes and remarks system for logging observations — the dashboard shows unresolved remarks separately from completed tasks
• A simple income and expense tracker tied to shifts, surfaced in the Reports screen alongside work time and completed task counts

Reports and the Dashboard

The home screen greets the user by time of day and lays out a 2×3 grid of live status cards — tasks pending, aircraft in fleet, work time logged, remarks, completed tasks, and active checklists. Quick Actions at the bottom let you fire up a timer, start a checklist, log a remark, or add a note in a single tap. The Reports section pulls these threads together into an overview showing work time, completed count, balance, and remarks in a four-card grid, with drill-down access to checklists, timers, and unresolved remarks.

A Note on Visual Design

The app's deep red gradient and 3D-rendered aviation iconography — airplane silhouettes, a stopwatch, a clipboard — give it strong visual character. That same red-dominant palette does raise a practical concern: white text on a red gradient may not consistently meet WCAG contrast standards, and the color-coded status system (green for serviceable, orange for maintenance) relies heavily on color without guaranteed text backup in all states. Users with color vision deficiencies may find certain status indicators ambiguous.

Built-In Guidance

Beyond tracking, AeroRoutine includes tips on fatigue management, night shift practices, and professional best practices — a thoughtful addition for an industry where human factors carry real safety weight. A shift schedule with reminders and a ready-to-use report generator round out the feature set, helping mechanics close out a shift with documentation already prepared.

The app's scope feels deliberate: it doesn't try to replace maintenance management systems, just the scraps of paper and mental load that fill the gaps between them.
