Oh man, okay so I picked up Thunder Coin Blast basically on a whim because the icon looked cool and I was waiting for a bus and honestly I was not expecting to still be playing it three days later, and yet here we are, and I want to talk about why, because I think there's something genuinely clever going on under the surface of what looks like a simple tap-and-blast arcade game, and also I think it has some real issues that are worth flagging, so let me just get into it, the core mechanic — holding to charge, dragging to aim, releasing to fire a lightning bolt at the clouds — is legitimately satisfying in a way I didn't anticipate, like there's this little tension-and-release loop that feels physical somehow, and the different cloud tiers (Wisp, Gray, Dark, Storm) give you a reason to keep going because you're always hoping a Storm cloud shows up and you get that massive 20x reward plus a life back, which is such a good design move honestly because it makes the rare event feel like a genuine rescue rather than just a bonus, and the persistent coins carrying over between runs is a nice touch too because you don't feel like you're starting from zero every time, HOWEVER — and this is where I have some real feelings — the difficulty curve is weirdly steep once you get past the early waves, like the Wisp clouds are almost too easy and then suddenly you're getting slammed by Dark clouds and burning through lives faster than you can recover them, and it starts to feel less like skill and more like luck determining when Storm clouds appear, and I lowkey wish there was more control over that, also the daily 500-coin bonus is great but it doesn't feel like enough of a reason to come back every single day when the gameplay loop itself already pulls you in so naturally, like the intrinsic motivation is there, the extrinsic nudge feels a bit underpowered, overall though I genuinely like this one more than I expected to and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants something fast and satisfying that you can pick up for five minutes or twenty.
