Where it starts to lose me is around level 4 or 5, where the move limits tighten up considerably and the target scores feel like they weren't balanced with the same care as the earlier stages. The gap between 'just enough moves to win comfortably' and 'you need near-perfect play' widens fast. It's not unplayable, but the difficulty curve feels less like a gentle slope and more like a wall.
The visuals are bright and the fruit designs are polished — no complaints there. The animations are smooth on my device. I also like that there are 10 achievements to chase; that kind of light progression layer keeps me coming back more than a raw score counter would. The statistics tracking is a nice touch too, though I wish it surfaced more useful data about which fruit types I'm blasting most efficiently.
All in all, for a casual puzzle game, Hot Fruit offers a reasonable experience at its price point. I'd rate it higher if the mid-game difficulty scaling were smoother. Worth trying, but don't be surprised if levels 6 through 10 require more replays than feels satisfying.

carla_m92: rewards patience over just tapping frantically
Oh man, okay so I have pretty strong feelings about this one actually, because I went into Hot Fruit expecting basically nothing — like just another fruit-themed casual game that I'd delete in two days — and instead I ended up genuinely hooked for a whole weekend, which I did not see coming, and I think the reason is exactly what you said about the scoring system, because once I realized that holding off and building a bigger group gives you way more points than just tapping the first match you see, it kind of clicked into this satisfying strategic loop that I really wasn't expecting from something with such a cheerful, breezy visual style, and also the bell symbols on the board in level 4 are just so satisfying to clear in a big chain, I don't know why but they are, and the animations when a big group pops are genuinely lovely and smooth, and honestly the whole thing just feels really well put together for a small casual title, I'm kind of obsessed with it right now.

Tried levels 1–4 on Android 14. No crashes — ran fine. Agree on the difficulty wall around level 5. Move limits feel arbitrary there. Not a design choice, just feels like a number that wasn't tested enough. Visuals fine — nothing groundbreaking. Decent time-killer for commutes.

I've been messing around with this for about a week now. The achievements are a nice touch, I'll give it that — used to be I'd play casual puzzlers and there was nothing to chase beyond the level number itself, so having those 10 unlockables does add something. That said, I feel like the game used to give you more breathing room in the middle levels? Or maybe I'm just remembering easier puzzle games and projecting. Either way, the move count on level 6 felt stingy compared to the earlier ones. Is anyone finding a particular strategy — like prioritizing certain fruit types over others — that makes those mid-game levels more manageable, or is it just a matter of grinding replays until the board layout cooperates?
TechTerrence: Move limits feel arbitrary there
I have been playing Hot Fruit for a little over two weeks now, and I find that my experience tracks quite closely with what others have said here, though I want to add some broader context. When I first started, the game presented a genuinely satisfying puzzle loop; the mechanic of waiting to accumulate larger groups before tapping felt thoughtful, and the six fruit types across the levels provided enough visual variety to keep things interesting without becoming overwhelming. The statistics screen, in particular, struck me as a promising feature — one that suggested the developers had a serious audience in mind. However, I must say that the mid-game difficulty — and I have now reached level 7 — does feel markedly steeper than the early game would lead you to expect. There was a time, or at least an impression early on, that the game would scale gracefully; by level 7, that impression has largely dissolved. The move limits are punishing in a way that feels less like a considered design challenge and more like an oversight in playtesting. I do not think this ruins the game, but it does dampen the enjoyment considerably when a level must be retried several times simply because the board generates an unfavorable distribution of fruits. The visual presentation remains a genuine strength; the animations are fluid and the fruit designs are charming and well-rendered. I will continue playing, but I would encourage the developer to revisit the balance on the later levels with some care.
bargain_bree: Is anyone finding a particular strategy
Okay so on the strategy question from bargain_bree — I've honestly found that going for the biggest possible group on your very first move of each turn, even if it means ignoring a slightly better position elsewhere, tends to snowball really nicely because of the squared scoring, and also keeping an eye on the bell symbols specifically because they tend to cluster weirdly and you can get a massive pop if you're patient, and honestly just not panicking when the board looks sparse is like 80% of it, the new fruits that drop in from the top can completely reshape things in a couple of moves.
pixelRonan: just not panicking when the board looks sparse
The drop mechanic is key. New fruits refill from above — so a bad board can recover fast. Learned that on level 5. Stopped panicking, started winning. Also — achievements unlock passively. Don't grind for them. Just play.
That squared scoring tip is actually something I hadn't fully internalized — I knew bigger groups were better but didn't think about it as a compounding thing worth planning multiple moves ahead for. Feels a bit like the game used to make that clearer to new players and now it just assumes you'll figure it out. Anyway, going to try being more deliberate on level 6 tonight. Anyone tried pushing all the way to level 10 yet — is the final level actually beatable without an insane amount of luck on the board layout?
